Hi Friends,

I had updated the OS to 4.2.1 for Iphone 3 GS as the system showed it as an update available.  After updation, the system hangs often and the touch screen does not recognise the touch and I have to often resort to pressing Sleep button and center button together for 10 seconds.   I reset the factory settings and now the when I tap the picture in the photoes, the screen becomes blank.  All these only post OS migration. How to go back to older version of the OS now?

Its kinda hard to help you though as you have not given complete info. Are you jailbroken?  If not, Just try a normal restore. Connect to iTunes and click on "Restore". If you are still having problems, Come back and post what you did and what happened. Then I can try to give you better info.

Hi Friend,

It is not a Jailbroken.  It was an open one when it was bought itself in Saudi.  I had tried using the restore in the iTunes with factory settings.  Still some times it hangs - atleast once in a day and I have use center button and sleep button together for 10 secs to get it reset.
When I said 'hangs', the touch is not felt by the screen.
