I will be heading down to South America in a couple of weeks.. I don't want to use my iphone while there to call anyone... but I would like to access my apps.... will it charge {data usage} anything to do that if I connect to a wi-fi? I have AT & T's minimum data usage plan,& don't want to use the phone part while there.. I was even thinking of airplane mode to prevent any calls....
                                                   Thanks!!

Hey i would like to add a few points to it I'd call At&t and see what their coverage maps are like. But even then the cost might be crazy. However a lot of times (and I did this when I went to Israel) if you call At&t and tell them that you are going to Germany they will create an 'overseas' plan for you that you can be on. Try it! But again wifi is FREE and easy! Just make sure to change the settings on your phone to wifi only when in a hotspot or it may try and go back and forth between 3G and wifi
hope this helps u.
thanks.
