Hi!

Device: IPhone 3Gs
Firmware: 3.1.3
Baseband: 05.12.01
Jailbreak tool if used: Ultrasn0w (I think)
AppSync installed: 3.1
Unlock tool if used: Ultrasn0w
Computer OS: windows7 x86 (For now)

My iPhone 3GS is screw up somewhat. I need to restore it back to brand new factory setting.. What I should do is hold SHIFT  while clicking the "Restore" button in the iPhone tab in iTunes and use the tinyumbrella to kick out of Recovery Mode then jailbreak through jailbreakme.com and unlock through Ultrasn0w 1.1-1, correct?

I am on at&t, So I have never had to use the unlock. I am not sure how to help you since I have never done that process. I can look around the web and see if I can find a solution.

I can understand what you want to discuss here, I just want to include that their is a unique solution which can even unlock iPhones that have actually been damaged because of other so called unlocking solutions. This solution even works if you have had an iPhone unlocked and it was relocked after an upgrade.

informative!!
both jailbreaking and unlocking an iphone is born together steps for iphone. once you jailbreak your iphone you need to unlock it. jailbreaking your iphone can be done only through your current software version which your phone has. it may be of redsnow/cydia/yellowsnow.. what ever it may be the following are the steps for jailbreaking. this link http://mobiputing.com/2011/12/how-to-jailbreak-an-iphone-ipod-touch-or-ipad-with-ios-5-0-1-untethered/ shows you how to jailbreak the iphone using redsnow. the same steps follows to other softwares too only thing is the software differs. after jailbreaking your phone you need to unlock it. you can unlock it using softwares or some other methods. if you ask me i will say remote unlocking is the best way to unlock iphones. to get this service you can contact Classicunlocking.com or some other providers who provides this service.
