After having my iPhone for a bit now I've got to say that I love it... But I'm really curious as to why a few things have not been updated with the iPhone... So I just figured I'd throw out there some of the things I'd like to see added and I suppose others may as well do the same in this thread...

MY NECESSARY UPDATES FOR THE IPHONE

•Ability to reply to text while in app
•Ability to add captions to photos from native photo library
•Ability to rotate photos via native photo library
•Minimization of applications without actual exiting
•Ability to set tasks for auto-execution according to time (similar to sleeping iPod after set time)

Also, if you have any idea how a person would go about submitting these ideas to a company like Apple please let me know... And I'm referring to an area actually designating to things such as these... Not just a place I can post it and hope it gets read... Lol

im pretty sure 1 and 4 can be taken care of with jailbreaking. i know 4 for sure by using backkgrounder and i think 1 with some quick reply sms thing... the others, idk about.

I read somewhere (forgot where.... Sad) that someone or people are making a Jail Break Theme like the G1 to where you can slide pages or whatever you're on down to view the page that was under it.

PogoPlank is pretty cool. Very easily theme-able. It does take getting used to but  I think it is a great alternative to ''categories''

I have literally been trying to update my phone since 11:15 pm the night iOS was released. For over 48 hours now I have been starting and stopping the update due to it not moving past around 4% of the backup process. I backed my phone up again today to see if it would speed up the process but it has not worked. I have called 1800MYIPHONE twice and spoken to two people who have been helpful but we can't seem to get anything solved. It just seems that it wants to do nothing but backup. I know the servers have been slemmed but my phone has literally spent a minimum of five hours plgged in at a time to update and nothing. I plugged it in again last night for the fourth time at 12:15 am and woke up at 8 with just that 4%. Left it plugged in until noon and no further movement. If anyone has any ideas please help. I have not recieved a single error message or lost any data at this point. It just won't dp anything. Thanks for the ideas if you have any.

I'll assume you have a 3GS? A few questions:

1) What operating system are you running on your computer?
2) Have you updated to the latest version of iTunes? (I assume the Apple guys told you to)
3) What state is the device in now? Just chilling on the home screen?
4) Do you have ANY backups saved at all?
and
5) Which version of iOS are you currently running on the device?
